OTABAdelaide is known for it’s laid back lifestyle and easy living. But it’s also got plenty going on in and around itself. Plenty of shopping, dining, exploring and even relaxing options are on offer for those that visit the capital of South Australia.

Getting here

There are plenty of options for getting to Adelaide. The airport is only a short 15 minute drive from the city centre. And Overland it’s an easy drive or you can catch the Greyhound and Premier bus services. Train is also an option with the famous Ghan railway leaving from here up to Darwin.

What can i do?

In the city centre Rundle mall has all the shopping your heart desires. Or you can escape to one of the beach side suburbs such as Glenelg for a dip in the ocean.

Perhaps the best time to visit Adelaide is during it’s festival season which runs usually from January till March. Womad, Summer and of course the famous Fringe festival are on during this time. If you visit during fringe be sure to catch an awesome show at the Garden of unearthly delights which will surely be a highlight.

There are also plenty of sights to be seen a short drive from Adelaide, the Adelaide hills are only half an hour away and feature wineries, breweries, distilleries and chocolate makers. The small german town of Hahndorf is definitely a highlight if heading here.

A couple hours north of the city you can find the Clare valley and to the north east the Barossa Valley which is famous for it’s red wine.

Where to from here?

Before leaving Adelaide you should definitely checkout Kangaroo island. Otherwise you can head east towards Melbourne via the great ocean road and grampians national park, north to Uluru via the Flinders ranges and Coober Pedy or west across the Nullarbor to Perth.
