What can I do

You can’t visit Kakadu without checking out the Aboriginal rock art galleries. Ubirr is one of the most popular choices here for rock art viewing. Walk the kilometre long circuit to view the main gallery, Namarrgarn and Sisters and also the Rainbow serpent galleries. There’s also plenty of spots for spectacular views as well.

If you need more spectacular views then sunset at Nawurlandja lookout is a must see.  Trek the 300 metre incline for views towards Arnem land and Anbangbang Billabong.

Speaking of Billabongs a cruise on the waters of yellow billabong is one you should definitely checkout. Spot birds and of course crocodiles while you cruise along. You can also explore via foot if you prefer.

Many walks are to be had within the national park so no need to worry about opportunities to increase your fitness. A visit to at least one of the many famous waterfalls or swimming holes will also have you ready for more.

Twin Falls and Jim Jim falls are two of the most spectacular waterfalls here and can be visited in the dry season. Gunlom falls is also an unforgettable experience.

If you’ve got a 4 wheel drive and feel like a swim then the plunge pool at Maguk should be on your radar.
