If you are looking at taking a trip along the East Coast. Australia by Campervan or bus pass are two options for getting around. If you’re looking for a cheaper option, you may consider using one of the bus companies. Such as Greyhound or Premier motor service. If you want to take your time and stop off at places you may miss if you are on a bus schedule, you may consider renting a campervan. Buses are a good option if you are traveling alone, but if you’re going with a partner or friends, you may consider splitting the cost of a campervan.

Greyhound

Greyhound bus service offers daily buses going up and down the whole east coast, which makes your journey super convenient. They also offer a lot of different passes to suit your travel schedule. Passes are available for 7, 15, 30, 60, and 120 days. Using the bus pass is beneficial as you don’t have to worry about leaving your car or campervan somewhere when you are away on overnight tours such as Fraser Island and the Whitsundays. Greyhound has buses running every day, which is ideal if you have a tight schedule, but they also have longer passes if you want to take your time and enjoy the trip at your own pace.

Premier Motor Service

Premier Motor Service is another bus option, although it only travels up the east coast from Sydney to Cairns. It runs 4-5 days a week at the moment, so not as frequently, but you can definitely plan ahead and get the times you need. It is a less expensive option, but it is less flexible; however, if your trip can be planned around schedules, it can be an excellent way to save money. They offer passes for 30, 90, and 180 days, so move at the pace you desire and plan your perfect holiday.

Australia by Campervan

Australia by campervan along the east coast with a campervan gives you a lot more opportunities to stop and see some amazing little places along the coast, which you might miss if you are traveling by bus. So if you are looking to take your time and not worry about when you will be moving on to the next destination, this is a great option.

Another bonus is that you can stop and spend the night in various locations along your journey without having to book accommodation. It can be a great option if you’re looking at moving through quite quickly or if you want to really take your time and see everything the East Coast has to offer.

The only time you might encounter difficulties while driving your campervan is if you go on an overnight tour, like one to Fraser Island or the Whitsundays, because you’ll need to find a place to leave it while you’re gone and you’ll still have to pay for those nights.

Australia byCampervan are great for people traveling with others, as the cost can be split, but if traveling alone, it could end up quite expensive compared to the bus. If you aren’t keen on the really long bus trips, campers would be a good option, as you can stop off anywhere along the way and have a break.

Consider Your Options

So when thinking about how you want to travel the east coast, if you’re looking for something more cost-effective for just yourself, you’d probably be looking at taking the buses, but if you’re leaning more towards taking your time and seeing everything the east coast has to offer, a campervan could be a great option. If you prefer to travel on the spur of the moment, camper vans are ideal; there are no set departure and arrival times; you can stop wherever you want and stay as long as you want.
