The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is a “must-see” experience while visiting Brisbane. And this well-liked Brisbane river cruise has been transporting locals and tourists there for more than 70 years. Our Koala & River Cruise is the ideal opportunity to see Australia’s cuddliest animals up close and personal while taking in the sights and sounds of Brisbane’s most beautiful riverside neighbourhoods, which are only accessible by boat.

Departures

  • Departs 9 am please check in 8.30 am
  • Departs Lone Pine 1.30 pm; arrives Brisbane 2.45 pm
  • Except on Christmas Day and ANZAC Day, we cruise every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

You board Mirimar 11 at the Cultural Center Pontoon, which is on the promenade in front of the Queensland State Library in Brisbane’s Southbank neighbourhood. There is an 8.30 am boarding time and a 9 am departure time. At exactly 1.30 pm, Lone Pine Jetty departs for the city, and it returns at 2.45 pm to the Cultural Center Pontoon.

Please be aware that there are 28 stairs to climb in order to reach the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary’s access gates from the boat.

Itinerary

  • Leave the city behind on a tranquil cruise to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.
  • As you cruise along Brisbane’s waterfront, listen to an interesting commentary as you pass busy metropolis towers and lush neighbourhoods with waterfront homes.
  • Enjoy prepared meals, morning tea, and snacks from our on-board cafe at your own expense.
  • Spend three hours touring the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, where you can view more than 130 koalas, hand-feed kangaroos and emus, take in a genuine Australian sheep dog show, see a shy platypus swim, and marvel at the incredible birds of prey.
