Snorkel on the Ningaloo Reef. Spend the day visiting several snorkelling spots that are only accessible by boat.
The Outer Reef, also known as the Muiron Islands, are situated about 20 nautical miles north-east or about west of Exmouth and are surrounded by a variety of coral gardens, rocky ledges, and fascinating dive spots. On the 75-minute journey to the Islands, keep an eye out for ospreys, shearwaters, turtles, manta rays, dolphins, dugongs, and, when they are migrating, humpback whales.
The dive spots around the Outer Reef or Muiron Islands are appropriate for divers of all levels and snorkelers (over the age of six), as they have a maximum depth of 20 metres and typically only gentle currents. There are many locations to look for shrimp, nudibranchs, eels, young angelfish, and other timid species in swim-throughs and ledges. Look for turtles, nurse sharks, soft coral gardens, anemones, clams, friendly potato cod, giant rankin cod, and thousands of darting, colourful reef fish in the middle of the ocean and up against the reefs. Manta rays visit numerous of our dive sites in the latter part of the year.
