Description

Come see humpback whales in their natural habitat with Coral Bay Eco Tours. Visitors will be allowed to interact with these magnificent animals in the water if it is safe and we are able to do so. This full-day tour starts with a stunning reef snorkel. You might see turtles, reef sharks, stingrays, and many kinds of fish! We then travel to the open ocean to watch the whales in their natural habitat.

Departures

  • Departs Coral Bay 7.30 am

If and when our trained guide deems it safe to do so, guests will be separated into groups of 7, ready to enter the water. With the groups taking turns, 7 swimming guests will enter the water with 2 crew members at a time, positioned to the side or in front of the whale’s path at a safe distance. It is then all up to the whales—each interaction will be on their terms. Humpback whales can be curious and may approach swimmers, or they may simply pass by. A spotter plane and drone are used to find and determine the sizes of claves before we get into the water.

When we have finished our time with the humpback whales, we will make our way back inside the reef to have lunch and do a final reef snorkel. On our way back to the jetty, we will provide you with a glass of champagne and a fruit platter to finish the day off in style.

We provide a full buffet lunch, morning and afternoon tea, all snorkel equipment, including wetsuits, fresh water, tea, coffee, a large change room facility, a toilet, and a photo package.

Please note: Although every effort is made to provide you with the opportunity to see and interact with the wildlife, we cannot guarantee nature. For each tour, there is a maximum of 14 spots available for swimmers.

Humpback Interaction Swimmer: guests will participate in swimming with humpback whales.

Humpback observers will partake in everything except getting in the water.

Wild Life Swimmer: will partake in everything except swimming with humpbacks. However, if there is not already 14 interaction swimmers, you may upgrade on the boat.

Whale Season

Humpback whale season in Coral Bay begins at the end of June and runs through to mid-October. During this time, it is estimated that around 30,000 whales pass through Ningaloo Reef on their annual migration, sometimes stopping to rest, shelter, and play in the calm waters of Coral Bay.

We are dealing with Mother Nature and animal behavior. Therefore, opportunities will vary from day to day. Nothing in nature is guaranteed; however, every effort will be made to ensure you have an amazing day out.

This tour is recommended for experienced swimmers. For the child/infant policy, please check the terms & Condition below.
