Ride Tours takes you on an adventure to show you the best highlights of the Great Ocean Road on this fantastic day tour. Visit the spectacular Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, and many more sights throughout the day.

Ride Tours will pick you up in Melbourne at 7 a.m. So its a great idea to get ready 15 minutes before your departure, and that way the tour can depart on time. You have so much to see on this day tour, and you don’t want to miss out on any of the sights. As we get all our passengers onboard, it’s time to hit the road.

Departures

  • Departs Melbourne 7am
  • Returns Melbourne 7.30 pm

We travel out of Melbourne, driving down the highway onto the town of Colac. There, we drive towards the coast and make our way to the Great Ocean Road. Ride tours first scenic adventure is the Twelve Apostles. When we arrive at the Apostles, we take a walk onto the boardwalk. From there, you get some amazing pictures for the viewing platform at the Twelve Apostles, perfect for the Instagram snap. It really is a spectacular site to see these natural rock formations for the first time.

Shipwreck Coast

Once leaving the Twelve Apostles, it’s less than a 10-minute drive to the amazing Loch Ard Gorge. And take a stroll on the sand on the famous shipwreck beach.

After leaving Loch Ard Gorge, ride tours take a scenic drive into the Great Otway National Park. Here, we take advantage of some stops to see the views from the lookout points. and take a walk in the rainforest, checking out the eucalyptus trees. And try spotting bird life and koalas in their natural habitat.

Lorne Pier

Traveling onto Lorne, we have a break with some afternoon tea and coffee, then go for a wander out onto the pier. This is home to the legendary Lorne Pier to Pub annual race.

We start our drive along the Surf Coast until we arrive at the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch, then we start to drive back along the highway to Melbourne. We arrive back in the city around 7:30 p.m.

Important info before travel

Dress appropriately, as Victorian weather can have four seasons in one day.  Bring a water bottle, sunscreen, hat, swimmers, towel and a jacket.

We suggest you dress appropriately for all weather conditions and also pack towels, toiletries, bathers, snacks, and a water bottle. We highly recommend a medium level of fitness and appropriate footwear and clothing for walking. Sunscreen and a hat are advisable during the warmer months.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation within 48 hours of departure will result in full fare forfeiture. Ride Tours will not be held responsible for passengers failing to familiarise themselves with the booking terms and conditions.

Transfer Policy: $25 per person transfer fee applies to any transfer of service within 48 hours to 7 days before departure. Transfers within 48 hours will result in full fare forfeiture.

Child Policy: Children are not permitted on our tours due to the nature and length of the tours; please check with reservations for recommendations.

Luggage policy: As a small, independent company offering tours aimed at backpackers, we want to keep our prices as low as possible. Taking a luggage trailer is an unnecessary additional cost for short tours. Inappropriate luggage presented on the day of departure may result in a refusal to board.

  • Luggage for 1-day tours: There are no luggage storage facilities on 1-day tours; please do not bring your luggage with you. Luggage may be stored with your accommodation provider for the day.
