Whale Tales offers a truly memorable adventure on board our custom built Whale Watching vessel. A once in a lifetime experience to get up close and personal with these truly majestic creatures of the deep sea. Maximum 34 passengers.
We are whale enthusiasts! We love all things whale and we want to share our passion and knowledge with you. Our mission is to provide you with a very special whale encounter.
Cruise through Sydney Harbour, under the Harbour Bridge and past the Opera House. We will venture our of Sydney heads into the open ocean with our expert and passionate crew to witness the annual migration of the majestic humpback whales.
Respectfully observe these amazing animals whilst we provide in depth commentary. We have decades of experience observing and swimming with humpback whales and we want to share our knowledge with you.

Whale Tales Itinerary:
- Welcome Aboard – Step onto our modern vessel at Darling Harbour and meet our friendly crew. After a quick safety briefing, we’ll set off on your unforgettable journey.
- Cruise Through Sydney Harbour – Enjoy breathtaking views of iconic landmarks including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House, while learning fun and fascinating facts from your guide.
- Out to the Open Ocean – As we leave the harbour, keep your eyes peeled for the tell-tale whale “blow.” Everyone is encouraged to help spot whales as we begin our search along the famous Humpback Highway.
- Whale Encounters – Witness humpback whales in their natural habitat, from tail slaps to breaches, while our expert crew provides passionate, educational commentary. Kids and adults alike can join in by encouraging these inquisitive giants to approach the boat.
- Memories to Last a Lifetime – After incredible whale encounters, we’ll return to Sydney Harbour, leaving you with memories you’ll treasure forever.

Important Info
Booking Conditions
- Most importantly – passengers must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure! If you miss the boat, we cannot guarantee you a seat on another trip. You will be offered a standby seat only, meaning you can come to the wharf for the next departure and see if there is space for your to travel will us.
- All tickets (including gift certificates) are non-refundable if cancelled within 24 hours of departure.
- Full payment must be made at time of booking.
- Full refund or rescheduling is permitted on bookings/ cancellation made outside of 24
hours from departure time. - Any cancellations made within 24 hours (or ‘no shows’) will incur a 100% cancellation
fee, inclusive of Gift Certificate bookings; passengers will forfeit tickets. - In the case of extreme swell/rain/winds tours may be cancelled and Whale Tales crew will contact you via your email address and phone number you provided when booking.
- If Whale Tales must cancel a tour due to inclement weather, or for any other reason, you will be offered options to either rescheduled to another date, receive a gift certificate or request a refund.
- Whale Tales operates in an outdoor marine environment. Conditions vary and passengers may get wet.
- Passengers with back, neck, shoulder or heart conditions, or those who are pregnant
or who have injuries/conditions that may cause a risk to their health should consult
with their doctor prior to travelling with us and do so at their own risk. - Please secure your personal items appropriately. While all care is taken, we take no responsibility for loss/damage of valuables.
- If whales are not spotted on a whale watching tour, you will be offered a standby ticket for another Whale Watching tour during the same whale watching season. Standby tickets are NOT REFUNDABLE or transferable and are subject to availability.
- Our Whale Watching vessels are a very safe and stable vessel. All care is taken to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience with us. Passengers board and ride on our vessels at their own risk and in no circumstance other than the gross negligence of the skipper as proven by a court of law, will Sea Monkey Sailing Pty Ltd, its officers, or agents be held responsible for any accident, injury, loss or damage to person or property whilst embarking, traveling or disembarking from our vessels
