A Once-in-a-Lifetime White Water Adventure. Above all, brave grade 3 and 4 rapids on a daring ride through a breathtaking gorge, surrounded by World Heritage forests. Most importantly, no prior expertise is required; nonetheless, our River Guides will assist you. And it is a full-day excursion with departures from Cairns

Departures

  • Departs Cairns from 10 am

Your travel itinerary

  • 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Pickups from the Cairns hotel.11.00–13.00: Depart for the scenic drive to Tully.
  • 13.00–13.45 Meet up with other (self-drive) rafters at the Golden Gumboot in Tully before making a quick lunch stop there (optional, at your own cost).
  • 13.45–14.30, outfitted with rafting equipment, and then ascend to the top of the Tully River Gorge.
  • 114.30–15.00Before you get on the water, your river guide will meet with you and give you a safety briefing and paddling instructions.
  • 15.00–18.00 Raft the world-renowned Tully River, conquering awesome grade 3 and 4 rapids!
  • 18.00–19.15 When you get to the take-out location, change into dry clothes before making the short trip to the Feluga Hotel, a classic Queensland rural tavern and Raging Thunder’s Tully home.
  • 19.15–20.15 Enjoy a substantial pub supper with your guide and crew, look over photos from your adventure, and swap river tales while being surrounded by a living history of the Tully River’s spectacular rafting!
  • 20.15–22.00 Sit back and unwind as we take you back to your hotel.

Important info

You must be able to swim proficiently to take part in Tully River Rafting. You must also be able to understand and adhere to River Guide instructions in English. For your protection, please. At the time of pick-up, River Guides will evaluate your level of English speaking and comprehension to see if there are any worries about your ability to follow directions and interact with our River Guides. You won’t be allowed to take part in the tour, and there won’t be a refund. Anyone who might be pregnant should not go rafting.

Important info before travel

Swimwear, towel, change of dry clothes, secure footwear such as sandshoes or adventure sandals (no thongs), waterproof sunscreen, and a cap to wear under the helmet (optional). Hire shoes available for $5 if you don’t want your shoes to get wet. Thermal tops and dry tops are available for $5 each. Also bring your voucher and money for additional refreshments and the purchase of any digital photos you may like as an awesome reminder of your epic adventure. Please leave jewellery and valuables at your accommodation.

CANCELLATION POLICY
50% refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of tour departure.
There is no refund for cancellations made within 24 hours of departure.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS, IMPAIRMENTS AND DISABILITIES
All rafting participants must disclose any medical condition prior to traveling with Raging Thunder. By booking this tour, you confirm that you do not have a medical condition that would make it unsafe to participate. If you are pregnant, you will be unable to raft with us. If you have a medical condition or are unsure that you are physically able to participate, we recommend that you consult with a medical practitioner.

LIABILITY RELEASE FORMS
Whitewater rafting contains a certain element of risk, and all participants must sign a Liability Release Form prior to rafting. People traveling under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian to be able to sign this form at the arranged pick-up point.

RAFTING MINIMUM AGES
Customers for our Tully River Rafting tours must be 13 years of age or older to participate in the trip. Customers for our Barron River Rafting Tours must be 12 years of age or older to participate in the trip.

DELIVERY POLICY
Once a booking is confirmed and payment received, a pick-up time will be instructed, and the tour will begin at the specified time and place

All online transactions are processed on a secure payment page (SSL server certificate). Raging Thunder does not handle your credit card details; secure credit card payments are processed by our booking engine supplier, www.respax.com.au

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS
All transactions will be processed in AUD. The card holder and credit card used in this booking must be present on the day of the tour to sign and verify the use of their card for this booking. Should the cardholder or credit card not be present on the day of travel, then another form of payment must be made. If this happens, then the original amount will be refunded to the credit card, minus $2.00 for transaction fees. If the credit card holder is not present on the tour, then the tour operator reserves the right to take payment in full on the day or cancel the customer’s tour, and the relevant cancellation policies would apply.
