Description
This 40-minute Outer Reef Odyssey scenic flight is our most popular product. By extending the flight time, we include all the highlights of the 30-minute tour while also pushing further east. Firstly, you will pass Green Island and track to the outer edge of Arlington Reef – one of the largest reefs in the northern Great Barrier Reef.
Next, we traverse the reef’s edge toward the Australian continental shelf. Here, the water clarity is unsurpassed as the ocean floor drops away to over 1,000 feet.
The additional time also allows us to fly further north past Vlassoff Sand Cay and on to the outer reaches of Michaelmas Reef. Consequently, this provides the ultimate reef experience for our guests.
Finally, the colours and textures of the reef, combined with the clear blue waters and massive skies, create unforgettable backdrops for photographers. Throughout the journey, our local pilot-guides provide informative commentary on the reef’s history and its abundant marine life.

- Minimum – 2 passengers

- Personal items should not exceed 10 kg.
- Helicopters are subject to strict weight limitations, specific to each aircraft type.
- Children who have not yet reached their 2nd birthday are classified as infants and may travel free of charge (seated on a parent/guardian’s lap utilising a company provided infant seat belt restraint).
- Please note that we can only accommodate one infant per aircraft.
- You must provide accurate body and carry-on luggage weights for every passenger at the time of booking.
- For safety, we legally require all passengers and their luggage to undergo a weigh-in at check-in.
- If your actual weight varies by more than 10% from the weight you provided, additional charges may apply, or we may need to reduce your luggage allowance.
- Zoom Helicopters reserves the right to refuse travel and charge a 100% cancellation fee if weights are misrepresented.
- The maximum single seat weight limit/payload for Zoom Helicopters’ fleet of aircraft is 130kgs.
