Description
This 30-minute Inner Reef Explorer flight departs Cairns airport, tracking out from the mainland with stunning views of the city and Trinity Inlet. You will pass False Cape, where remnants of WWII defences are still visible, before flying over Mt Yarrabah, Mission Bay, and Cape Grafton.
Next, we head to the inner edge of the Reef and Green Island. This 6,000-year-old coral cay is unique for having its own native rainforest ecosystem.
Tracking north, we explore Arlington Reef, which is home to a diverse range of marine life like turtles, sharks, and manta rays. Continuing further north, we then circle Vlasoff Cay. This tiny sand island shrinks to just a few hundred square metres at high tide. If you wish to land and capture the ultimate Instagram shot, simply book on the day or let your pilot know during the flight.
Finally, we head west over Upolu Cay and back to Cairns. The return journey offers fantastic views of the North Queensland coastline, framed by the lush, rainforest-covered slopes of the Great Dividing Range.
