Description
Cruise out to Castaway Island on our high-speed catamaran, as we drop off/pick up passengers from other resorts enroute, then see the beauty of the resort stretching before you as you’re welcomed ashore. With 5 hours on the island, there is plenty of time to laze in the sun beneath swaying palms at one of their two beaches and enjoy snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters over coral reefs straight off the beach. A limit of 20 passengers per day means an exclusive small group trip complete with a day trip escort/host.
Activities: Guests enjoy access to two fresh-water swimming pools, multiple bars, a resort boutique, and island massages. They can also use a range of water sports equipment, which requires a refundable deposit. For families, a Kids Club is on hand, and guests can book motorised water sports for an additional fee.
Food and Drinks: Enjoy a delicious two-course à la carte or buffet lunch, included with your trip. For drinks, choose from a full menu of beverages available for purchase at the resort’s bar. If you require a vegetarian option, please specify in the ‘additional information’ section at checkout.
Departure/Return Times
- Departs Port Denaru at 9:30 am and arrives at Castaway Island Resort at 11:00 am
- Departs Castaway Island Resort at 4:20 pm and Arrives at Port Denaru at 6:00 pm
- Please let us know which hotel you are staying at in the additional information, as this will enable us to organize the closest pick-up for you.

Pricing
- All rates are Retail in Fijian Dollars per person and include taxes where applicable. All prices include Fiji Government taxes & levies (currently 12.5% VAT)
- South Sea Cruises reserves the right to alter prices, apply a fuel surcharge, cancel departures, arrange alternative transport, and vary itineraries and services if necessary.
- For all Credit Card or International Debit Card payments, a 2.5% non-refundable administration fee applies for Visa/Mastercard payments and 3% for Amex payments.
Special Offers
- All specials and promotional offers will have their own terms and conditions, these override any of the terms & conditions included here.
Inclusions
- All inclusions are as indicated in the brochure and websites at the time of travel. If not stated as included then item/s are at customer’s own cost.
Right to cancel or change operations
- If weather and sea conditions become unfavourable South Sea Cruises reserves the right to offload customers to another South Sea Cruises vessel for their comfort and safety as opposed to completing the day aboard the scheduled service.
- All cruises are subject to sea and weather conditions, particularly in the interest of passenger safety.
- At times of high occupancy, Island Resorts reserve the right to close out Day Cruise passengers.
Liability
- Should adverse conditions prevent operation, our liability is limited to offering an alternative cruise or appropriate refund no greater than the fare paid. The client is responsible for their own additional accommodation costs. South Sea Cruises is not responsible for missed flights due to late arrival at the airline check-in counter what regardless of the cause.
- Travel insurance is recommended for all bookings. South Sea Cruises shall not be held responsible for any property loss or damage and/or any claim resulting from personal injury or death arising whilst travelling with the company. This disclaimer applies irrespective of cause.

- In the event that the Semi-Submersible Coral Viewer at South Sea Island is not in operation due to unfavourable weather conditions, maintenance, or repairs, no refund (partial or full) will be given.
- Where another company or persons operate the service such as shore transfers and diving South Sea Cruises is acting only as a Sales Agent. Responsibility and liability for the operation lies with that operator.
- Ultimate Encounter: Snorkel with sharks – As Sharks are wild animals, we cannot guarantee sightings however we have a 95% success rate of sighting sharks. In the event that you don’t see any sharks, we are happy for you to return for a complimentary “Ultimate Encounter – Snorkel with Sharks” within 3 days of your original cruise.
- Age and medical restrictions apply to diving activities. A medical questionnaire must be completed.
- Divers cannot fly for 24 hours after diving and the company accepts no liability for medical conditions experienced as a result of flying after diving. All diving is operated by Crystal Blue Reef Safari Ltd and booking to dive with them deems acceptance of the terms and conditions as published on their website www.reefsafari.com
Children & Family Rates
- Resort Transfer Child fares are for children aged between the ages of 2 to 15 inclusive and infants under 2 are complimentary but must be advised at the time of booking.
- For day trips the child age for South Sea Island is 5 to 15 inclusive and infants under 5 are complimentary. The minimum age for children on South Sea Sailing, Ultimate Encounter and Manta Ray Experience is 5 years old.
- On South Sea Sailing, children aged 5-7 are required to wear a lifejacket (provided) for the duration of the trip.
- With the exception of South Sea Island, infant meals are not included on Day Cruises and are payable directly to the resort.
- Family Passes where shown are valid for up to 2 adults and up to 3 children.
- Malamala Beach Club prices are per person and applicable for all customers aged 3+ years. Infants 2 years and under are complimentary.
Coach Transfers
- Complimentary Coach transfers are provided for selected day trips from most Nadi, Wailoaloa, Port Denarau & Coral Coast hotels/resorts but must be pre-booked.
- Transfers can also be provided from either Anchorage Beach Resort or First Landing for Mamanuca Day Tours only departing Port Denarau on the 9:00am or 10:00am vessels.
- From Coral Coast Hotels & Resorts – Complimentary coach transfers are provided only to connect with the 10:00am vessel departure (ex Port Denarau) & the 4:00pm vessel departure (ex South Sea Island), 4:15pm vessel departure (ex Malamala Beach Club)
- All courtesy coach transfers must be pre-booked at least 24 hours prior to the tour date.
- Missed coach connections will necessitate customers to make their own arrangements to Port Denarau at their own cost to join Day Cruises.
Diving

Group Bookings
- Group bookings and Charters: These Terms and Conditions DO NOT APPLY to group and charter travel. Separate booking conditions and payment terms will be provided with quotations and/or booking confirmations.
Fare Structure
- Resort transfer fares are issued as one-way fares to allow flexibility in constructing multi-island journeys.
- While this enables agents to build customised itineraries, the transfer is considered one continuous journey. Once the first sector has commenced, no refunds apply for any unused sectors (including return/inbound legs).
Amendment Policy
- For day trips, no fees apply to amend to another South Sea Cruises Pte Limited day trip or an alternative date, however, if the trip is subsequently canceled irrespective of whether travel is outside of the 24-hour travel date, 100% cancellation fees apply.
- For resort transfer services, amendments made more than 72 hours prior to the first booked sector may be made without penalty (subject to availability) but amendments requested within 72 hours of the first booked sector may be re-issued to an alternative South Sea Cruises service (subject to availability), however no refunds apply and any fare difference is payable. If an amended booking is later cancelled, a 100% cancellation fee will apply regardless of notice period.
Cancellation Fees
- All cancellations must be received in writing by the South Sea Cruises reservations team, email: reservations@ssc.com.fj
- For day trips a 100% cancellation fee applies within 24 hours of the booked deapture time, or in the case of a no-show.
- For resort transfer services a 100% cancellation fee applies within 72 hours of the first booked sector, or in the case of a no-show.
- Resort transfer fares are issued as one-way fares to provide flexibility in creating multi-island itineraries. For this reason, each booked sector is treated as a separate confirmed service, and once travel has commenced, no refunds apply for any unused sectors (including return journeys). For example, if a guest books a return transfer but later decides not to use the return, this sector is considered forfeited, and no refund will be provided.
- Travel documents may be re-issued to an alternative South Sea Cruises service to be utilized within 12 months of the original travel date without penalty; however any fare difference will be payable.
- No residual refunds are available for any unused components after travel has commenced.
