Description
Your journey on the Buccaneer Explorer – Wet Season begins with a departure from Broome. First, we track across the Dampier Peninsula and over the vast King Sound, which is famous for having Australia’s largest tides, ranking among the highest in the world.
Next, you will overfly the incredible Horizontal Waterfalls*. Subsequently, Sir David Attenborough described this natural phenomenon as ‘the 8th Natural Wonder of the World.’
The adventure continues as we fly across the stunning Buccaneer Archipelago. This area is home to over 1,000 islands formed from Precambrian sandstone that is more than two billion years old.
Later, we will fly over Koolan and Cockatoo Island, which are known for their incredibly rich iron ore deposits.
After landing at Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, you can enjoy a Pearl Farm Discovery Tour. This tour provides a fascinating insight into the history of pearling and teaches you how the farm cultivates some of the world’s most beautiful and sought-after pearls.
Following the tour, you will savor a delicious lunch at the farm’s on-site restaurant. You can then relax with a refreshing swim in their swimming pool.
Finally, your coastal return flight offers breathtaking views. You will first overfly the stunning red cliffs at Cape Leveque before heading south along the Dampier Peninsula. During this leg, you will see the beautiful bays and beaches of Beagle Bay, James Price Point, Willie Creek Pearl Farm, and Broome’s world-famous Cable Beach.
Please note: The Horizontal Waterfalls are a tide-dependent phenomenon with a variable flow. While we do our very best to arrive during a period of optimum flow, we cannot guarantee the amount or level of water at any given time.
