Your travel itinerary

Your friendly, accredited guide will meet you at your Cairns accommodation to begin your full-day trip. Following introductions, we drive north over the spectacular, picturesque coastline path of the Captain Cook Highway. Learning about the area’s history while admiring the breathtaking vistas of the coastline and the azure waters of the Coral Sea.

Stop 1: Daintree Rainforest Cruise and Morning tea The majestic Daintree River is the first stop for morning tea before embarking on an educational guided river cruise on the Daintree River. Relax and take in the splendour that only the Daintree Rainforest can provide. This is nature at its finest as you learn about estuarine crocodiles, mangrove forests, and rare fauna.

Stop 2: Alexandra Range Lookout We climb the Alexandra Range and stop for a panoramic view of World Heritage, Wet Tropics, and Tropical Rainforest, blending with the azure colours of the Coral Sea.

Stop 3: Guided Boardwalk Daintree Rainforest tour  On one of our guided elevated National Park Boardwalks, you can get up close and personal with the rainforest.

Stop 5: 4WD Bloomfield Track to Emmagen Creek Wildlife Spotting and swimming We will take you beyond the famous Daintree Tea Plantation. As we approach Cape Tribulation, we will pass through beautiful mountains and a World Heritage-listed rainforest. Continue on the 4WD Bloomfield Track until you reach the lovely Emmagen Creek. Stop 6: Cape Tribulation Beach We next proceed to Cape Tribulation Beach after most of the visitors have dispersed. Stroll down the beach and boardwalk to the photographers’ platform, which offers panoramic views of the mountains and coast where the ‘Rainforest meets the Reef.’

Stop 7: Daintree ice cream company (Daintree Ice-Cream Company) On our way home, we stop at the Daintree Ice-Cream Company for some unusually handcrafted ice cream.

Important info before travel

Hat, sunscreen, a camera with extra batteries & memory cards, water bottle, towel and swimming costume (if you plan to swim), insect repellent, extra cash for cold drinks, souvenirs or an ice-cream, raincoat in our rainy season or umbrella.

TEMPORARY ITINERARY CHANGES

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Due to the impact of severe tropical cyclone Jasper and the associated flooding, the Daintree Rainforest north of the Daintree River and the coast road to Port Douglas from Cairns are currently inaccessible to the general public, and we are unable to provide access to the Daintree Ferry, Cape Tribulation, or Cape Trib Beach House.

CAIRNS-BASED CUSTOMERS
We have therefore modified our Cairns-based Daintree Rainforest tour to include a visit to the beautiful Kuranda Barron Falls lookout and rainforest canopy walk in the morning, as well as an extended visit to the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre and Mossman Gorge section of the Daintree Rainforest with a guided walk and swim in the crystal clear waters of the Daintree rainforest in the afternoon. Lunch will be served at the historic Daintree Village alongside the Daintree River, followed by an exciting croc-spotting tour with the Daintree River Cruise Centre, and finishing with an ice cream provided on the return journey with a visit to the Emerald Creek Ice Creamery outside of Mareeba.

PORT DOUGLAS-BASED CUSTOMERS
Our Port Douglas customers will be treated to an extended visit to the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre and Mossman Gorge section of the Daintree Rainforest with a guided walk and swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Daintree rainforest (including Billy Tea and damper on arrival). This is followed by a scenic drive past the southern section of the Daintree River to the historic Daintree Village for lunch, and finally, an exciting croc-spotting tour with the Daintree River Cruise Centre, finishing with ice cream from the Daintree Ice-cream Company (as available) before we return to Port Douglas accommodations. Pickup times have changed and will be confirmed before travel.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Department of Transport Regulations states that seat belts are compulsory for all passengers and infants and must be worn always.

Prices and itineraries are current at the time of print. Our pricing season runs from April 1 to March 31 of the following year. New prices come into effect each year on April 1.

Billy Tea Safaris reserves the right to alter or cancel its itineraries due to weather conditions, flooding, or other factors beyond the control of the operator. Itineraries are also subject to change and modification, and some destinations may not be reached at the discretion of the Billy Tea Safaris guide on the day due to weather conditions, road conditions, possible road closures, and the safety of all passengers. If a portion of your tour is cancelled due to weather, this is not refundable. If Billy Tea Safaris cancels the whole-day tour due to weather, a refund will be issued. Travel insurance is not included.

CANCELLATION AND REBOOKING POLICY

Any expenses incurred by any passenger because of any action or omissions of the operator, its servants, or agents are the sole responsibility of the passenger. The operator is unable to guarantee exact arrival or departure times and is not liable for any failure to make connections with any other service or guarantee the vehicle type used or the operation of any service. While we, the operator, make every effort to safeguard our clients and belongings, we will not be held responsible for any personal injury or loss due to events beyond our control.

1-Day Tours: Customers can cancel their trip up to 18 hours before travel for a full refund (2 p.m. the day prior to travel). If you cancel within the 18-hour period before travel or within 24 hours before day 1 for multi-day packages, no refund will be issued. Rebooking fees of $50 may also apply.

Multi-Day Packages: Customers can cancel their trip up to 24 hours before Day 1 of multi-day packages for a full refund. If you cancel within the 24-hour period before day 1 of your multi-day package, no refund will be issued. Rebooking fees of $50 may also apply.

Cancellations by us: In the instance that your preferred date of travel is cancelled by us, we will rebook you on the next available date we are departing at no additional cost to you.

Booked via Agents: If you booked through a third-party travel agent, please contact your agent directly regarding your refund or rebooking request first. Please read the agent’s terms and conditions carefully before booking with a third party! Their specific terms and conditions are out of our control and may differ from our terms and conditions.

Private Charters: Private charters if cancelled 7 days or less will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
