Following introductions, we drive north over the spectacular, picturesque coastline path of the Captain Cook Highway. Learning about the area’s history while admiring the breathtaking vistas of the coastline and the azure waters of the Coral Sea.

Stop 1: Daintree Rainforest Cruise and Morning tea The majestic Daintree River is the first stop for morning tea before embarking on an educational guided river cruise on the Daintree River. Relax and take in the splendour that only the Daintree Rainforest can provide. This is nature at its finest as you learn about estuarine crocodiles, mangrove forests, and rare fauna.

Stop 2: Alexandra Range Lookout We climb the Alexandra Range and stop for a panoramic view of World Heritage, Wet Tropics, and Tropical Rainforest, blending with the azure colours of the Coral Sea.

Stop 3: Guided Boardwalk Daintree Rainforest tour  On one of our guided elevated National Park Boardwalks, you can get up close and personal with the rainforest.

Your knowledgeable guide will lead you on a fascinating adventure through this ancient jungle. While providing an overview of flora and animals, there will be plenty of time for photography and questions. As we look for the elusive, rare Southern Cassowary and other animal species in this area,.

However, Billy Tea Safaris is the only tour company that visits this hidden jewel in the rainforest. And now it’s time for a relaxing swim in a rainforest stream. Furthermore, in crystal-clear fresh water and away from crowds,.

Stop 6: Cape Tribulation Beach We next proceed to Cape Tribulation Beach after most of the visitors have dispersed. Stroll down the beach and boardwalk to the photographers’ platform, which offers panoramic views of the mountains and coast where the ‘Rainforest meets the Reef.’

Stop 7: Daintree ice cream company (Daintree Ice-Cream Company) On our way home, we stop at the Daintree Ice-Cream Company for some unusually handcrafted ice cream.

Important info before travel

Hat, sunscreen, a camera with extra batteries & memory cards, water bottle, towel and swimming costume (if you plan to swim), insect repellent, extra cash for cold drinks, souvenirs or an ice-cream, raincoat in our rainy season or umbrella.

Due to the impact of severe tropical cyclone Jasper and the associated flooding, the Daintree Rainforest north of the Daintree River and the coast road to Port Douglas from Cairns are currently inaccessible to the general public, and we are unable to provide access to the Daintree Ferry, Cape Tribulation, or Cape Trib Beach House.

We have therefore modified our Cairns-based Daintree Rainforest tour to include a visit to the beautiful Kuranda Barron Falls lookout and rainforest canopy walk in the morning, as well as an extended visit to the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre and Mossman Gorge section of the Daintree Rainforest with a guided walk and swim in the crystal clear waters of the Daintree rainforest in the afternoon. Lunch will be served at the historic Daintree Village alongside the Daintree River, followed by an exciting croc-spotting tour with the Daintree River Cruise Centre, and finishing with an ice cream provided on the return journey with a visit to the Emerald Creek Ice Creamery outside of Mareeba.

Our Port Douglas customers will be treated to an extended visit to the Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre and Mossman Gorge section of the Daintree Rainforest with a guided walk and swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Daintree rainforest (including Billy Tea and damper on arrival). This is followed by a scenic drive past the southern section of the Daintree River to the historic Daintree Village for lunch, and finally, an exciting croc-spotting tour with the Daintree River Cruise Centre, finishing with ice cream from the Daintree Ice-cream Company (as available) before we return to Port Douglas accommodations.
