Important info before travel

  • Please print a copy of our e-ticket or have it readily available on your smart phone/tablet, or note down your booking reference number for check-in.
  • The Resorts’ booked through Awesome Adventures Fiji will provide you with linen, towels, and most provide basic toiletries – some properties may charge a small fee for the use of towels in their dorms. We suggest that you bring your own toiletries and may also wish to bring your own towel as well as sunscreen, insect repellent (with DEET or similar), swimwear, a sunhat, and sunglasses. Light, loose clothing is recommended during the day with something warmer for those cooler evenings. The resorts all have generators with the majority operating 24 hours a day, voltage and power sockets are the same as those used in Australia and New Zealand (220 – 240 volts).
  • Unless otherwise stipulated by the resort you are staying at, we do advise not to drink the water in the rooms/bures as in many cases this is not potable water. However, most of the resorts we book do ensure that the water accessing the kitchen, bar and the restaurant is all filtered to drinking standards. All the resorts will have filtered drinking water available for you to refill your reusable drink bottle.
  • There are no banks in the Mamanuca or Yasawa Islands, so please take a credit/debit card for any incidentals. You will find ATM cash machines at Nadi International Airport, Wailoaloa Bay and at Port Denarau should you wish to take a small amount of cash with you.

    7. Right to vary travel arrangements

4a For ‘Island Stay’ bookings, where an additional price is shown under ‘meals’ these are the compulsory meal plan/resort package prices as provided by the hotels. These prices are per person per night and include 3 meals per day stayed unless otherwise stated and can either be paid at the time of booking (for hotels that allow pre-payment of meals) or upon check-in at each of the hotels in local currency, FJ$ (for resorts that state ‘Pay Direct’ under meals). Where meals are listed as included or have a daily price, clients will receive 3 meals per day stayed.

4b For the ‘Arrival and Departure’ bookings, the meal prices shown are for daily breakfast only.

6c All meal prices are Net Non-Commissionable.

4d Important: Meal plans for the ‘multi-night Inclusive Packages’ and ‘Awesome Passes’ are not able to be pre-purchased. Therefore, all meals are to be paid directly to each resort stayed at in the itinerary once passengers are in Fiji. The resort meal packages are compulsory and must be taken once at the resorts as there are no alternative dining options.

4e Meal rates are correct at the time of issue and are subject to change by the resorts.

6f When meals are prebooked (for Island Stays only), any/all dietary requirements and/or allergies must be requested/advised at the time of booking, so we can pass this important information to the resorts. There are no refunds or credits for any unused meals.

4g Meal plans commence from arrival at your resort. You will arrive at your resort in time for lunch, therefore day one will include Lunch and Dinner.  On your last day at a resort, only Breakfast will be included.  Should your resort connection not depart for your next destination until after lunch and you wish to have lunch while waiting, this meal will be at your own cost.

    10. Inclusive Packages

Our packages are great for those that prefer a more independent experience – these are self-guided packages that let the traveller explore at their own pace. Packages visit different regions within the Yasawa and Mamanuca Islands (Blue Lagoon region, Manta Ray region, Yasawa Gateway region and Mamanuca Islands). As the resorts within these regions are small (which is part of the attraction of visiting these islands) there is limited availability, therefore we use at least 2 resorts in most regions to try to accommodate all guests. On nights where our itineraries show more than one hotel listed within a region, the Awesome Adventures reservations office will confirm the client’s itinerary based on the availability of the resorts and room types at the time of receiving the booking. While we try to accommodate requests for specific resorts/hotels, these are not guaranteed and will be subject to availability at the time of booking. All activities provided will be based on the activities provided at the hotel confirmed in the final itinerary and may be substituted for an alternative activity should they not be available or operational upon client’s arrival at the resort.

11h Awesome Pass vouchers issued for the specified number of nights as per the selected pass duration. While all travel is pre-paid it does not need to be pre-booked at the time of purchase – reservations must stil be made for all vessel transfers and accommodation at least 24 hours prior to the travel date and accommodation MUST be booked before disembarking from the South Sea Cruises vessels. Guests must make their accommodation bookings in advance of their arrival at a resort – all accommodation is subject to availability. 13. Charter for Addressing Problems

In the event you strike a problem, or you are dissatisfied with some aspect of the service or facilities during the course of your trip, our recomendation is to discuss the issue immediately with the service supplier at the time or as practicable in the circumstance. This provides the opportunity to resolve the issue at the time and allows you to continue to enjoy your travel. Should you require our assistance, please contact our Awesome Adventures Fiji customer support team immediately at customerservices@ssc.com.fj and they will assist in resolving the issue.

    14. Force Majeure

Awesome Adventures Fiji shall not be liable or responsible for any failure or delay in the performance of its obligations specified herein arising out of or caused by, directly or indirectly, forces beyond its control, including, without limitation, acts of war or terrorism, strikes, riots, accidents, civil or military disturbances, natural catastrophes or acts of God, virus outbreaks, pandemics, power or any other mechanical failures, computer virus, governmental action, or communications disruption.

    15. Visa Requirements

It is the responsibility of all customers travelling with Awesome Adventures Fiji to check and adhere to Fiji’s visa requirements.

    16. Travel Insurance

There are very limited medical facilities in the Yasawa Islands so if any medical problem arises you will likely need to return to Nadi. If this problem develops into a serious medical issue, you will most likely want to leave Fiji for Australia or New Zealand, or home. There is also a higher degree of risk in public areas, on local vessels, etc. Sea conditions and sometimes cyclones can prevent travel on the booked dates. It is therefore, an essential condition of travelling with Awesome Adventures Fiji that you have a valid travel insurance policy to cover the cost of any emergency medical treatment and/or evacuation plus insurance cover for cancelled and/or delayed travel expenses incurred due to cancelled or delayed services as the result of weather events or unforeseen operational issues.

    17. Resort Grading

17a Resorts/hotels used in the program offer modern dorms and bures with a good standard of accommodation and amenities. Meals are not included in the nightly rate; instead, you buy a compulsory daily meal plan either when booking or at check-in. Meals can feature multiple courses with a varied selection of local and international dishes. Resorts feature a selection of room types from dorms with shared facilities through to beachfront bures with ensuites. WiFi will generally be available in public areas. The room types used in the ‘Awesome Pass- Upgrade’ are a higher room grade and always have private ensuite bathrooms – these are generally situated in beachfront locations.

17b Please note that some resorts/hotels in the islands do not accept cash and all transactions must be paid via credit/debit card.

    18. Diving

Age and medical restrictions apply to any scuba diving activities. A medical questionnaire must be completed. Divers cannot fly for 24 hours after diving and the company accepts no liability for medical conditions experienced as a result of diving or flying after diving. All diving is operated by Crystal Blue Reef Safari Ltd and booking to dive with them deems acceptance of the terms and conditions as published on their website www.reefsafaridivingfiji.com. South Sea Cruises assumes no liability for any diving activities undertaken with Crystal Blue Reef Safari Ltd, or any other operator.
