WHERE is Rapids Jet?
We’re located on 3 Nga Awa Purua Rd, just off Rapids Rd, in Aratiatia, Taupō. It’s about 15 minutes from Taupō and 50 minutes from Rotorua.
WHEN can I come for a ride?
We’re open 364 days a year (only closed on Christmas Day)!
Our office is open from 9am – 5pm, and our boats operate between 9am and 4pm. On busier days, we can depart every hour, on the hour.
WHAT should I wear?
- Any footwear (running shoes, jandals, sandals – it all counts!)
- In summer: comfy, light clothes
- In the winter: please dress warm & wear waterproof layers!
- We provide the life jackets. Rapids Jet life jackets are adjustable and able to fit around a 2XL. If you are unsure on whether you will fit one of our Jackets, stop by and try one on!
Important Info
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY
Rapids Jet reserves the right to cancel any service as a result of weather conditions, mechanical breakdown, insufficient reservations; or any other unforeseen event or circumstance a refund will be given to the client.
If the client has booked through an independent booking agent we will authorize a refund, and the refund will have to come from the booking agent minus their booking charges.
In the event of a ‘No Show, No Contact’ by the client no refund will be given.
Cancellations by customers, are entirely at the discretion of Rapids Jet. Each case will be dealt with on an individual basis but resolved with a final outcome being provided to the customer and within 24hrs.

PRICING AND ADDITIONAL CHARGES: All charges to customers will be made in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). A booking fee of 1.9% is included in credit card payments.
DELIVERY OF SERVICES: Once a booking is confirmed, all necessary information will be sent to the customer via email. Please ensure your email is accurate and check your spam folder if you don’t receive a confirmation within 24 hours.
PAYMENT SECURITY : Our payment gateway, WINDCAVE, employs advanced encryption and security measures to ensure the protection of card data during payment transactions. It also complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), an internationally recognised standard for secure data handling and transactions. WINDCAVE is a Level 1 certified PCI DSS compliant provider.
