Have you just hired a campervan from Cheap Az Travel and now you’re ready to plan your East Coast Australia road trip campsites? You’re in the right place.
We have a great follow-up service that we provide to our customers. If you want help mapping out your route, or you’re looking for must-see spots along the way, we’ve got you covered.
To get you started, we’ve pulled together a list of Australian East Coast campsites and campgrounds that past travellers have stayed at and actually recommended. We keep this list updated as often as possible.
REMEMBER PEAK PERIODS IN AUSTRALIA CAN MEAN SITES BOOK OUT EARLY – SO MAKE SURE YOU MAKE YOUR PLAN AND BOOK YOUR SITES IN ADVANCE TO BE SAFE.
There are many options for looking up campsites and campgrounds. As well as the below, there is also the Wikicamp and Campermate App that you can check out for free camping as well as campgrounds.
If you do park in illegal non-camping areas, you are putting your self at risk for getting fined by police or local councils. Most small towns will also have little information centres you can visit and get advise from. These are normally run by locals who can advise the best pubs and campgrounds to stay at.
In saying that, Australia is a very popular campervan destination with locals and travellers alike. Peak periods can mean campgrounds can be heavily booked out in advance, so beware of that when planning your roadtrip.
And if you want to level up your road trip with a Whitsundays or Fraser Island adventure, you can grab one of our packages (like the JAMIE package or book individual tours. Don’t forget to use your discount code for extra savings because who doesn’t love a cheeky $$ off?
