This Ayers Rock (Uluru) overnight escape is an introduction to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, guests will sleep on the ground outdoors under the stars. Finishes in Yulara / Ayers Rock on day 2 of the trip. Embark on a thrilling small group adventure, offering an unforgettable introduction to the captivating Red Centre. Over the course of two days, immerse yourself in the natural wonders of two iconic locations, Uluru and Kata Tjuta, thoughtfully combined into one extraordinary tour. We have comfortable twin permanent safari tents providing a little more comfort, privacy, and security, or you can try out a traditional swag experience (canvas-covered bedroll).

Itinerary

Departing from Ayers Rock/Yulara (Uluru Airport) we join the tour group in Uluru before we head to the Red Centre’s indigenous interpretive cultural centre where we have a chance to learn about the cultural, ecological, historical and geological significance of this very special national park. Get up close and personal with Uluru, the colossal monolith, as you embark on a base walk to the Mutitjulu waterhole, discovering sacred rock art sites and ancient creation stories. Explore the remarkable Kantju Gorge, home to Central Australia’s highest waterfall and an elders’ cave, ending your day with a mesmerizing sunset at Uluru lookout, accompanied by a hearty dinner.

Rise early and savor a light breakfast as you venture towards a captivating sunrise in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Witness the majestic silhouette of Kata Tjuta, a remarkable sight to behold. Embark on an invigorating hike through the awe-inspiring Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge, marveling at the mighty conglomerate rock formations. Conclude your exploration of Kata Tjuta, and head back to Yulara Airport to either meet your adjoining flight or back to Ayers Rock resort if you have booked an additional night’s accommodation at any of the accommodation providers there. Estimated drop-off time around mid-day. Finish in Yulara/Ayers Rock only.

  • Sleeping bags can be hired from us onboard for $40 AUD, this includes cleaning costs. You are more than welcome to bring your own. Payment is made directly to the tour operator.

  • Hotel transfers pre/post tour itinerary to a nominated pickup point.

Important Info

  • Mandatory passenger details required at time of booking: Flight number details [ie. ASP/AYQ], Airport arrival/departure point, Date of birth and Contact phone number.
  • Guests arriving on flights into Ayers Rock [AYQ airport] earlier than the pick-up time from the airport, should make their way to Ayers Rock Campground to join the group later. Lunch is not provided on day1.
  • While we endeavour to cater to most dietary needs, passengers must advise dietary requirements to their booking agent at the time of booking. As we are venturing to remote areas we are very limited in what we can source once the tour departs, therefore prior notice is required.
  • The tour operator must be notified of any known medical conditions at the time of booking to assist in our guiding and ensuring the health and safety of all guests throughout the tour.
  • A minimum moderate to advanced level of fitness is required to complete the walks. The length of walks will be between 2km to 3km each day, often over steep rocky sections and in direct sunlight and high humidity. An approximate 4-8km walk is included in this tour. Embarking on walks will be at the guide’s discretion to ensure the safety of guests. Therefore a medium/high level of fitness is required and a doctor’s certificate is required for people over 70 years (30 days prior to travel).
  • Children aged between 8 to 17 years old, must be accompanied by an adult or legal guardian at all times. Not suitable for infants or children 7 years and under.
  • Limited storage space on our vehicle, baggage kept to 1 x 15kg travel bag, 1 x 5kg day bag.
  • This tour is not suitable for mobility-impaired travellers, wheelchairs, walkers or strollers.
  • Itineraries may vary to adapt to seasonal changes and occasionally sites in the parks close or do not allow swimming. As safety is our top priority we plan accordingly to ensure our guests have the most fun and best experience possible while on tour.
  • Guests are asked to participate in the preparation of meals, clean up and vehicle unpacking/loading, so everyone can relax together after a long day touring. It’s also a great way to get to know and connect with your fellow travellers.

Given the current circumstances surrounding COVID-19, if you decide to cancel your tour we completely understand. The health and wellbeing of our customers and staff is our number one priority.

If your tour date is booked inside our cancellation period, where our cancellation fees would normally apply, in this instance, we’re happy to offer a 110% travel credit with Wildlife Tours, which is valid for travel until 31 March 2022.

Amendment to Cancellation Terms & Conditions


Tours departing from 17 March 2020
For cancellations of tours due to travel from the 17th of March, you will receive a travel credit of 110% to be used on any Wildlife Tours Australia tour valid until 31 MAR 2022.
Credit will automatically be applied to your booking.

Terms & Conditions:

Although every effort is made, Wildlife Tours Australia shall not be liable for any illness, injury, damages, loss, delay or failure to join the tour that may occur due to factors beyond our control. We highly recommend all passenger have travel insurance coverage. Wildlife Tours Australia retains the right to alter routes, itineraries, bus type, fares, days of operation or even cancel tours if unforeseen circumstances occur. Other accredited tour operators may be used on some tours. Wildlife Tours Australia will not be held responsible for passengers failing to familiarise themselves with the booking terms and conditions. Cancellation by the traveller:


Day Tours
 – Cancellations within 48 hours or failure to board on the day of tour, will result in 100% full fare forfeiture. Cancellation 3 to 7 days prior to departure will result in a 50% loss of the ticket price. Date change fees apply inside & including of 7 days $25 per person.

Extended Tours – Cancellations within 14 days or failure to board on the day, will result in 100% full fare forfeiture. Cancellation 15 to 21 days prior to departure will result in a 50% loss of the ticket price. Cancellation 22 to 30 days prior to departure will result in a 25% loss of the ticket price. Date change fees apply inside & including of 21 days $150 per person.

Cancellation by us:

Extended Tours – We may cancel a trip at any time up to 45-60 days before departure. We may cancel a trip at any time prior to departure if, due to terrorism, natural disasters, political instability or other external events it is not viable for us to operate the planned itinerary. If we cancel your trip, you can transfer amounts paid to an alternate departure date or receive a full refund. In circumstances where the cancellation is due to external events outside our reasonable control refunds will be less any unrecoverable costs. We are not responsible for any incidental expenses that you may have incurred as a result of your booking including but not limited to visas, vaccinations, travel insurance excess or non-refundable flights. No further cancellations should be made within 45 days.

Luggage Policy:

To maximise the comfort of your journey, no luggage storage facilities are provided on Day Tours it is recommended you bring a small daypack no bigger than 5kg. Extended Tours: Maximum baggage allowance per person is 15-20kg (preferably a soft travelling pack). Excessive luggage may incur a surcharge fee. In addition, you may bring a sleeping bag. Inappropriate luggage presented at departure such as strollers, walking frames and wheelchairs may result in refusal to board unless previously arranged. Excessive amount of luggage may incur a surcharge fee, for concerns please call our friendly reservations team. Accommodation: Please be aware that cooking facilities may not always be available on our extended tours.

Child Policy:

Wildlife Tours Australia permits children on most tours, however due to the nature and length of some tours it may not be recommended – please check with reservations. Children rates apply to our 1-day tours aged between 0 − 12 years, a baby seat can be provided on request (free of charge). To arrange this, please give us a call before your tour. Minimum age for our winery and extended tours is 18 years old, children are not permitted. Please note anyone under the age of 17 years old and younger, must travel with a legal guardian or adult. Due to limited luggage restrictions, pushers and prams are not permitted on tour.

Pick Up and Drop Off Services:

Wildlife Tours Australia may offer complimentary inner-city pickup and drop off services to various accommodation providers. It’s highly recommended to arrive for pick up well in advance of your scheduled pick up time to ensure a smooth departure. Please note Wildlife Tours Australia cannot be held responsible for passengers who fail to load.

Dietary Requirements:

Please notify Wildlife Tours Australia with any dietary requirements, medical conditions 48 hours prior to departure day. There are limited food options on extended tours once we have departed.
