Enjoy a fun-filled day sailing to the Outer Great Barrier Reef for snorkelling, sunbathing, and an introductory dive on Evolution. Then, before floating back to Cairns, take a magnificent helicopter trip for 10 minutes from our own pontoon.
Down Under Dive & Cruise The Evolution is a huge, elegant modern ship. Evolution offers a better journey out to the Reef. Furthermore, you will be taken to their unique Reef spots. Most importantly, their professional, polite, and attentive team assures a fun-filled, safe experience.
10-minute Scenic Flight over The Great Barrier Reef
This package also includes a picturesque helicopter flight lasting 10 minutes. So you’ll be flying with Nautilus Aviation from their pontoon on Hastings Reef. Experience the sheer vastness and beauty of the Great Barrier Reef and obtain a first-hand understanding of one of the world’s seven natural wonders. On the scenic flight, sightings of manta rays, turtles, and other marine life are typical. There’s even the potential to see whales if you travel with us during the winter months.
Intro Dive
One of the most beautiful things to do in Cairns is scuba diving on the outer Great Barrier Reef. You’ll explore the outer reef’s aquatic wonderland, complete with colourful fish, turtles, a variety of coral, and more!
Firstly Introductory dives are for non-certified divers who want to try scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef. We suit you up and leap in the water for the thrill of a lifetime as we guide you through this spectacular paradise after an in-depth briefing from our trained diving experts.
During your introductory scuba dive, you will acquire the fundamental skills needed to dive to depths of up to 12 metres while accompanied by one of our PADI-certified dive instructors. Furthermore, the scuba dive experience can take up to 20 minutes, allowing you time to relax and enjoy your first dive on the Great Barrier Reef. The minimum age for beginner diving, however, is 12 years old.
Finally, Down Under Cruise & Dive is a fun-filled vacation for all ages, from couples to solo travelers. Remember to bring a cap, towel, swimwear, a drink bottle, and, most importantly, sunscreen. And you’ll be well on your way to enjoying a wonderful day.

- 8.00AM: Evolution departs Cairns to its first location
- 1 Intro dive
- 11:30AM: Enjoy a BBQ buffet lunch onboard
- 1:00PM: Evolution arrives at its second location for your 10-minute Helicopter Flight and more snorkelling
- 3:00PM: Evolution departs for Cairns
- 4:30PM: Evolution arrives back in Cairns
